Summer 2019 we hosted our very 1st Curry Leaf Supper Club in Holborn, London. we picked the beautiful "Good and Proper Tea" which is a shop that specialises in good quality teas around the world.
We hosted 12 fantastic guests, it was an absolute pleasure to meet them and their vibrant personalities made the event extra special for us.
We were feeling the summer vibe so our tables matched colourful sunny London. At curry Leaf we are all about attention to detail not only do we concentrate on taking our guests taste buds on a flavour journey, we also want to create a beautiful atmosphere for our guests.
Curry Leaf we pride ourselves with creating dishes filled with flavour and style. Mali individually roasts all of her spices and grinds them to create her very own spice blend that is used in her curries. Furthermore we source all of our ingredients locally.
Our colossal prawns spiced with a unique blend of Sri Lankan spices and spiked with lime was a huge crowd favourite.
We also included our usual fan favourites the Classic Sri Lankan Curry & Moves Like Jaggery (Dessert).
We also added an extra special BRAND NEW cocktail to the menu. She is an absolute beauty made with Colombo 7 Sri Lankan gin, rhubarb syrup and lemon bitters. Finally we topped it with rhubarb aquafaba. For our very 1st London event it was on the house! It really did not disappoint, the guests LOVED it.
As a thank you, we gave our guests a much appreciated take home present: malis.cooking unique and much loved sea salt milk toffee treat.
Curry Leaf supper club would not be possible without my AWSOME team. My husband Ben and his cousin Moni made sure the evening ran smoothly and our guests needs met! Thanks guys you're the best!

"Thank you so much for such a great evening. It made me so proud to be (half) Sri Lankan. I felt quite emotional!!! It was lovely to meet you, your hubbie and his cousin. What a fantastic team. We were looked after so warmly and with such generosity that suffice to say we will definitely be coming back! My favourite dish was the wattalapam. It's something I crave, have tried to tackle myself but it always ends up a bit too eggy! You absolutely nailed it. And that aubergine pickle - amazing! The food, cocktails (the rhubarb one in particular), ambience and service were superb. The evening was beyond value for money. It's the best meal I've had out this year and to think it's not even your day job... It was typical Sri Lankan generosity but I think we all could have coped with smaller portions!"
