In June we invited a few fabulous food bloggers (who are doing amazing things on their insta) to come test Curry Leaf supper club. I wanted to share the super cool things they said about Curry Leaf with you! 1st of all I did not expect how the night would go but you guys!! it really was a night to remember, we had sooooo much fun hosting and getting to know them!
Kena and Disha, the fun sister food blogger team. Their page is filled with delicious food from the UK and INDIA, drooooool... These guys are vegetarians and getting validation that they liked my veggie dishes was a huge deal for me! Below are their comments about the food and some pics. And can you believe those shots were taken from a phone?! oh my gosh skills!
""This past weekend we were invited by the lovely husband and wife duo @malis.cooking to CURRY LEAF Supper Club featuring modern Sri Lankan food at her gorgeous abode in amazing bloggers’ company. 😋
We cannot stress what an incredible time we had savouring the most delicious variety of food starting from cocktails, starters, thali, desserts and finishing off with tea. We will let the pictures do the talking but allow us to whole heartedly recommend this supper club as it’s a one off experience you cannot get anywhere else!! We were looked after and felt so comfortable and at home in her beautiful home hosted by the best hosts providing an exceptional fine dining experience. We cannot wait to go back and introduce more people to such genuine souls cooking up a storm in her kitchen from scratch. Let me add, the dessert was out of this world. Literally!!! We wish we could go back every week just for that 🍮 . If you’re ever in and around Watford, you must pay them a visit and share your experiences with us. Follow @malis.cooking and get booking!!! ""
Tianna, a Watford based marvellous up and coming food blogger. Her blog features some superb local eateries as well as out. Curry Leaf was actually her 1st experience with Sri Lankan food!! So we were determined to make her 1st the BEST! So what did she have to say?
""So ABOUT last night 😍 I was invited by @malis.cooking to sample some of her gorgeous Sri Lankan food - with a twist! It was my first go trying Sri Lankan food & I already can’t wait to go back. Mali & Ben are a Husband & Wife team who not only provide flavoursome and beautifully presented food, they are also amazing hosts. They made me feel so welcome and I felt comfortable & relaxed dining in their gorgeous home - something you just don’t get from restaurants! What you see: (in order of the courses) • Welcome cocktail made with Ceylon Arrack, coconut water & passion fruit syrup. • Spicy prawn and mango 🍤 • Chicken curry with all the trimmings • Lychee & lime sorbet 🍧 • Watalappan which is a traditional Sri Lankan dessert however Mali has created her own version which I could eat over & over again 😍 • Ceylon tea & milk toffee. If you’re looking for relaxed and homely yet intimate, fun & fine dining - this is the place to go 📍 Follow @malis.cooking and contact her directly to enquire about bookings. Vegetarian & vegan available. Will cater for parties (6-8 people) or book on for the monthly curry club 👍 Thank you both for an amazing evening 😘""
Annie, the lovely food and wine expert. She is not only a blogger of food she is a keen wine connoisseur, so on her blog she shares great food and wine. She gave us some interesting wine pairing ideas for our menu (thanks Annie!). What did she think of us?
""Last night’s supper club @malis.cooking was beyond exquisite. Many restaurants would struggle to produce these taste levels and provide this experience. Sri Lankan food with a difference . 🍽 “Classic Curry” chicken curry, potato curry, pickled aubergine, coconut sambol, pineapple chutney, popadams and salad . 🍽 “Moves Like Jaggery” A little twist on the classic Sri Lankan dessert Watalappan a cardamom and cinnamon fragrant coconut based set custard . 📍Curry Leaf, Watford""
Last but not least, Sureca, the serious and bubbly food
